Using an Organizing Partner

"I just want to avoid doing it!" "It's easier just to close the door and hide the mess"

Sound familiar? That's me, talking about my shed. Yes, I have my own dark secrets too.

It's one thing when I walk into a client's home: I immediately
see things objectively and work together with the client to accomplish their goal, but...

I have a really hard time to do the same thing for myself...
and by myself!

I've discovered that I need to have someone else help me to finish my organizing projects that I've put off (and I've found out the hard way that it can't be my husband helping me! His definition of organizing is "bring in the dumpster and just dump it all!").

I've been putting off cleaning out my shed for over 2 years and
finally I asked my friend's teenage boys to give me a hand to do it. It worked out great because they didn't shriek and go running off (like I did) when we found a dead mouse in one of the boxes, and then a live mouse that jumped out of another box right after that! They thought it was so cool.

So, it's OK to ask for help, in fact, you might find it's more productive and motivating to have someone work with you on your One Organizing Goal.

ASSIGNMENT: Ask someone to be your Organizing Partner
Then, get started on your One Organizing Goal for the month!

For tips on how to choose an Organizing Partner and how to make it work, sign up for our free newsletter.

If you'd like to try out my personal Coaching Service to help you get jump-started on your One Organizing Goal, I'll work with you one-on-one by phone (or in-person if you're local) to help you get going!

Til next time... helping you Sort Things Out, one step at a time!
